• Pre-book your room online here at HotelEvacuationNetwork.com
  • Fill up on fuel: Buy gasoline as soon as possible to
    avoid the long lines.
  • Beware of live wires: Do not, under any circumstance, drive over a downed electrical line.
  • Flooded streets: Do not travel down a road submerged
in water. Underlying currents could carry away & stall your vehicle.  More than half of all hurricane deaths resulted from inland flooding.  Of those deaths, 1 in 4 people drowned in a car.

To use the Hotel Evacuation Network, simply go to hotelevacuationnetwork.com/lafayette. Be sure to bookmark the page for quick reference to handle all of your hotel bookings. When an evacuation notice is likely to be posted, go to the site and make your reservations.

There also is an advanced search option available to find hotels in outlying areas of major cities. It is recommended that booking the hotel before the evacuation notice has been posted will make it easier to find lodging in the particular area in which you are headed.

Note: During hurricane evacuations hotels can over-book causing some people to be without a room.  We suggest a few of additional steps to decrease the likelihood of such an error:

* Print your online reservation and confirmation number.

* Call the hotel and verbally confirm that your room you reserved is in their system and waiting.
